June Smith Caldwell

June Smith Caldwell, 83, of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Greene County and graduated from Chuckey Doak High School. She was employed by Eastman Kodak and retired after 38 years of service.

June attended Fort Robinson Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mary Ann Buckner Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bert and Nellie Beatrice Smith.

June is survived by her daughter, Dianna Bridwell and husband, Steve; and granddaughters, Lindsey and Haley Bridwell. She is also survived by a special friend, Eunice Trent, who visited her faithfully during her illness. Also, a special thanks to the caregivers at Yesterday's Place at The Village at Allandale, who became her extended family.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Samaritan's Purse, 801 Bamboo Road, Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607; or Victory Junction Children's Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
