June Quarles Coleman, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her home. She was a 1952 graduate of Baptist Hospital, Nursing in Knoxville. June started her career at Holston Valley Hospital in 1952, later working for a private physician in Church Hill, TN. She became a full-time mother and housewife in 1962 and was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers.
June is survived by her husband of 56 years, Chester S. Coleman; son, Donald S. Coleman and wife, Kathy; brother, Hollis Quarles and wife, Edith; three sisters, Diris May, Bonnie Parker and husband, Frank, and Gail Hickman and husband, Bill; and special friends, Kathy, Linda Sue, Wade and Geraldine.
The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. David Graves officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 am in Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Amos, Jr. officiating. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery at 9:45 am.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Grindstaff, Mike Roeske, Wade Rumley, David Pfountz, Bill Hickman and Bill Anders. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Witt and Frank Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 2505 Nathan St., Kingsport, TN 37664.
