June M. Gass
June M. Gass, 91, Kingsport, died Friday morning, March 23, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
June was born in Greeneville, TN where she graduated from Greeneville High School. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and taught at Lincoln Elementary and Washington Elementary in Kingsport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Bonnie Mason; husband, Robert L. Gass; and four brothers, David, Keith, Roger, and Boyd Mason.
Survivors include her daughter, Peg Gass Harsha and husband James T. of Cherry Grove, SC; one granddaughter, Erin Rall; one great-grandson, Jacob; three step-grandsons, Josh, Luke and Tim; one step-granddaughter, Debbie; four step-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Jackson, Ava and Jack; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Boyd Mason and Mrs. Charlie Smith.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to the ICU staff and doctors at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for their caring and support.
Family graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Doty Chapel Cemetery in Greeneville, TN with Minister Ed Clevinger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetics Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
