June Pollard Lunceford

June Pollard Lunceford, 67, of Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born in Norfolk, VA on June 12, 1945. June was a steadfast follower of Jesus, always exhorting her children and grandchildren to obey him. She was zealous for God's word and faithfully served her church family. June provided an excellent example of a loving wife, dedicated mother and a wise grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. Pollard, Jr., and Corinne Cutchin Pollard.

June is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David L. Lunceford; son, Michael D. Lunceford, wife, Kimberly and grandchildren, David, Jonathan and Sarah, all of Elon, NC; daughter, Lori L. Starr, husband, Jim and grandchildren, Matthew, Corinne, Daniel, Joshua, Luke, June Marie, Benjamin, Ruby and Evelyn, all of Kingsport, TN; mother-in-law, Ruby B. Lunceford of Rockingham, NC; brother, James L. Pollard, Sr. and wife, Nancy Jo of Durham, NC; sisters-in-law, Peggy L. Steele of Rockingham, NC, Elaine L. Davis and husband, Jerry of Rockingham, NC, Patricia Lunceford of Rockingham, NC and Kathy L. Yates of High Point, NC; and special friends, in Christ, Connie Bradley, Sara Emory and Nancy Jones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Pastor G. Brent Bradley officiating.

Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jordan Warhurst, Robert Bradley, Michael Cox, Dr. Del Bailey, John Yates and Greg Steele.
