Junior McKinley Hess

Junior McKinley Hess, 79, Kingsport, passed away on September 22, 2016 at NHC Rehab in Johnson City, TN. He would have been 80 on September 28th. Junior was a true child of God and shared his faith with everyone he met. Junior told his sister, Peggy Jean, that this week he would be with his wife in their other home. He had two very special people who took good care of him and who he loved dearly, Layton and Barbara Scalf. He also had a wonderful sister, Peggy Jean who stood by him all the way. Junior was of the Baptist faith and attended Emmanuel Baptist of Kingsport.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; parents, James and Demie Hess; sister, Betty Hess Clark; and 4 brothers, Harold, Clifford, Hughie and Elmer Hess.

Junior is survived by his 2 sisters, Virginia Adams of Duffield, VA and Peggy Jean Mullins of Milligan College, TN, and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor David Powers and Brother Tim Price officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
