Junious Grant Rayfield, 88, Kingsport, TN, departed this life on November 25, 2011 at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Rayfield will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his home, family and his Lord and Savior and was of the Baptist faith.
After serving his country in WWII, he worked at the Kingsport Power Company until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Rayfield was a lifetime member of the Charles Dewitt Byrd Post 3382 and the Disabled American Veterans in New Port Richey, FL. He was an avid UT and Dobyns-Bennett football fan.
Mr. Rayfield is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Kingsport; three daughters, Myra Ann Tiller of Kingsport, Connie Faye Rayfield of Sterling, VA, and Margaret Gayle Brinkley & husband Rick of Ladson, SC; four grandchildren, Carrie Cook & husband Jeremy, Tyce Pearson, Jr., Abby Chamberlain & husband Brian, and Adam Brinkley; three great-grandchildren, Jesse Cook, Jacob Cook and Lola Bradley; sister, Juanita Sensabaugh; and his loving pet Holly.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Entombment services will be conducted on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Cook, Jacob Cook, Tyce Pearson, Jr., Adam Brinkley, Harold Williams, Daryl Williams and David Williams.
