Karen Louise Morel

Karen Morel, 50, Kingsport, TN, passed away in Kingsport, TN, at a local hospital during the recovery of a procedure.

Karen was born in West Milford, NJ, on September 29, 1962. She graduated from Nimitz High School in 1980. She married her first love, Michael, 31 years ago and they became soul mates forever. Karen was a giving mother, who always put her children first. She had a vibrant personality and an infectious positive attitude, which affected so many lives. She was always outdoors - hiking, taking pictures of nature and kayaking with God, or as she would say "paddlin with the Big Man."

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Gunther Goss; twin sister, Lorraine "Teddy" Gailard; brother, Gregory Goss and mother-in-law, Dorothy Morel.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Morel; son, Michael Morel, Jr.; daughter, Heidi Morel; dog, Chino; mother, Mae Goss; father-in-law, Thomas Morel; step mother-in-law, Silvia Morel; sisters, Denise McGough, Laura Gehlich and Carol Goss; brother, Jerry Goss; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7901 Bay Branch Drive, The Woodlands, TX, on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Services will start at 10:00 a.m. with the Rosary Blessing, at 10:30 a.m. the wake will begin, at 11:00 a.m. there will be a funeral mass, followed by a luncheon at noon
