Karl Von Light

Karl Von Light, 55, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Born in Hawkins County, he was the son of Susie Light and the late Harry Lee Light. Karl served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith. Karl enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was loved by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Light.

Karl is survived by his mother and his brother, Phil Light; longtime friend and companion, Sharon Hammonds; and extended family, Tyler Hammonds, Chad Houston, and Maggie Colangelo.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Morelock and Pastor Wyndell Sydebothom officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Light, Tyler Hammonds, Chad Houston, Joey Morelock, Randal Compton, and Wayne Larkins.
