Kate Brickey

Kate Brickey, 88, of Kingsport, died early Monday morning, November, 26, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Ft. Blackmore, Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. Mrs. Brickey was a homemaker and a member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, L. J. Brickey, and eleven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Jerry M. Brickey and wife, Barbara, Blountville; two grandsons, Anthony W. Brickey and wife, Katina, and Adam W. Brickey and wife, Amy; two great-grandchildren, Forrest Brickey and Lauren Brickey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Rev. Fred Niles and Dr. Ira Howard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Broyles, David Thomas, Roger Hauk, Tom Hauk, Preston Roberts, and Mike Culbertson.
