Kathaleen Collins, 74, Kingsport, TN, went to sleep with Jesus, Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Brookhaven Manor after a lengthy illness with Alzheimers.

She was a loving wife and a precious mother. Her life centered around all her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Her parents, Ted and Belle Dykes, husband, Andrew Collins, daughter, Kathy Parsons, sister, Betty Franklin, brother, Carson Dykes, and sister Ruby Hall preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Owens, Kingsport, TN; Sue Byington and husband Neal, Gate City, Virginia; Donna Howden and husband Gary, Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren, Travis Christian, Scotty Parson, Jeffrey Parson, Robbie Parson, Jessica Kilgore, Randy Collins, and Miranda Flannagan; nine great-grandchildren Brogan, Allie, Connor, Timothy, Maddie, Kyle, Jenna, Austin, and P. J.; sister, Wilma House, brother, Rev. Kelly Dykes; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. Gaither Townsend officiating.

Private graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank all the loving, caring staff at Brookhaven Manor and Adventa Hospice for their kindness and support in the care of our mother. God Bless you All.
