Katherine G. Davenport

Katherine G. Davenport of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at her home. Born in Washington County, VA, and had resided in Kingsport since 1950. She was a graduate of Greendale High School. Katherine had retired from T.E.C. where she was a Registered Nurse with 35 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W.C. and Benona Grubb; sisters, Reba Grubb, Belle Logan and Lula Freeman; and brothers, W.H. Grubb, Wilson Grubb, Andrew Grubb, Roy Grubb, Gilbert Grubb and George Grubb.

Katherine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Davenport of Kingsport; brother, Ernest Grubb and wife, Carolyn of Bristol, TN; two sisters-in-law, Edith Grubb of Seymore, TN and Rosa Lee Grubb of Abingdon, VA; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on from 6-8:00 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, VA with Rev. Leroy Davis officiating.
