Katherine Hopkins Eanes

Katherine "Kitty" Virginia Hopkins Eanes, 92, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, surrounded by family at her home.

Kitty was a Kingsport resident and parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church for over eighty years. She attended Ohio State University. Kitty and her husband, Bob were the first couple to be married at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Bob and Kitty moved to Batesville, AR, in 1975, where they lived for nine years. Upon Bob's retirement from Arkansas Eastman, they returned to Kingsport. Kitty was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening and playing bridge. She was blessed with a quick wit and a gentle spirit that she maintained even in her final hours.

Kitty was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Robert "Bob" W. Eanes; two sons, Robert "Butch" W. Eanes, Jr. and Michael "Mike" Dwyer Eanes; parents, Albert and Katherine Dwyer Hopkins; sister, Mary Hopkins.

She is survived by four children, Patrick Eanes and wife, Luci, of Matthews, NC, Sheila Eanes, Anne Eanes Bradley and husband, J.R. and John Eanes and wife, Sabra, all of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren, Bridget, Sean, Karen, Michael, Sam, Steve, Randy, Monica, Alisa, Holly, Heath and Laura; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Cochran, Al Hopkins and Gene Hopkins; daughters-in-law, Susan Eanes, of FL and Maria Broyles, of FL.

Pallbearers will be Michael Eanes, Buck Eanes, Heath Eanes, Steve Bradley, Randy Bradley and Jared Lindholm.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church. A Mass of Celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Father Mike Nolan officiating.
