Katherine Sheffey

Mary Katherine Foulk Sheffey, 95, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015.

Born February 26, 1920, in Bristol, VA. She was the oldest of six children, born to the late Hicks Monroe Foulk and Mary Caroline Hicks Foulk. She married Emerson Sheffey on July 16, 1939, in Bristol, VA. They moved to the Bloomingdale Community then joined Vermont United Methodist Church in 1944.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Sheffey; grandsons, Paul David Musick and John Emerson Neeley; sister, Linda Foulk Sparks; brothers, Fred Wesley Foulk and Carl Ernest Foulk; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Foulk and Pearl Foulk.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ireson, Kingsport, Jeanne Musick and husband Ronnie, Mount Juliet, TN, Betty Richards and husband, Ronnie, Fall Branch, TN, and Emily Neeley and husband, John, Surgoinsville, TN; son, Ronald Carl Sheffey and wife, Teresa of Hendersonville, TN; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Foulk Hills and husband, Don, Richmond; brother, Don Foulk, Cincinnati, OH; and sister-in-law, Colleen Foulk, Bristol, TN.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Vermont United Methodist Church. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Christi Taylor and Rev. Homer Roller officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
