Kathleen C. Corley, 94, died Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011 at Indian Path Hospital, Kingsport. She was born in Greene County, TN and had lived in Kingsport since childhood.
Mrs. Corley was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She will be remembered for her love, her humor, the songs she sang, and the twinkle in her eyes. She will be greatly missed by her family, her caregivers, and all who knew her.
Kathleen was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Grady V. Corley; her parents O.P. and Belle Carmack; sister, Beulah Blakley; and two nephews.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Larry Steven Corley, daughter-in-law Stephanie Corley, granddaughters Kendall and Kelsey Corley, all of Houston, TX; brother Ancel Carmack, Kingsport; Hal Carmack, and wife Kathy, Kingsport; "daughter" Julie Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. John Bardsley and Rev. Kim Goddard officiating.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to send a special thank you to caregivers Karen Wills, Bill Feck, Betty Sims; and to Tabitha Owens - all of whom provided many years of in-home care and assistance to Kathleen.
