Kathy Sue Berry

Kathy Sue Berry, 62, of Kingsport, went to be with Jesus and mommy on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home, with her sisters by her side. Born in Kingsport, and a lifelong resident, she was employed by Opportunities Unlimited, a division of Frontier Health. Kathy attended Kingsport Baptist Temple and was a member of the Sunbeam Class. She had also attended Weber City Church of God and was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Church. She was an avid bowler and participated in the Special Olympics where she won many trophies and ribbons. Kathy enjoyed her favorite song, "I'll Fly Away."

She was preceded in death by her father, Buddy Berry; mother, Selma Berry (2011), brother, Jerry Berry and by her grandparents.

Kathy is survived by her two sisters, Gail Dean and husband, Eddie of Church Hill, and Pam Berry of the home, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Hammonds and Rev. John B. Walters officiating.

The family will also receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:30 pm at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jonesborough with Rev. John B. Walters officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jared Taylor, Jeremy White, Eddie Dean, Jeff Berry, Steven Davis and Tim Cox.

A special thank you to Amedysis Hospice, Interim Health Care, Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries, and to her caregivers, Mary, Gloria, Beth, Vonda and Audrey. We love you all.

And a special thanks to her niece, Heather Taylor for all of her help and love.
