Kathy Calhoun Hite

Kathy Calhoun Hite, 62, departed this life on April 14, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. Kathy worked at Holston Valley Medical Center for 27 years, until declining health forced her to stop. Her most cherished possessions were her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Stella Calhoun; sister, June; brothers, Roby, Hamilton and Scottie.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Wilbur; sons, Dustin, Cody (Brittany); daughter, Jessica (Tim) Keene; granddaughters, Haley, Gracie, Stella, Molly and Avery; her favorite grandson, Sam; sisters, Sue, Martha and Anita; brother, RS.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff at the cancer center, Dr. Nakhoul and her hospice nurse, Jennifer.

The family will receive friends at her home, and from 12-2:00 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral  Home, Kingsport on Monday, Aprilk 17, 2023.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating. Burial will follow in the Calhoun Family Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Yates and Andy Moffitt.
