Kathy Hinkle, Kingsport, went to be with her true love on Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013, following a brief illness. Kathy was born in Sullivan County and had resided in Kingsport for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steward Light, and her first husband, Robert Phillips.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Becky Oquinn and husband, T.J. of Haysi, VA; sons, John Phillips and wife, Carrie, and Dustin Hinkle, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jesicca, Tanner, Breanna and Trent; mother, Hazel Jane Light of Kingsport; sister, Sharon Kay Sluss and husband, William of Chesapeake, VA; brother, W.S. "Buck" Light and wife, Dana of Tuscon, AZ; nephews, Bill and Trent; and niece, Rebecca.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:30-3:00 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jared Wood officiating.
