Kathy Dowell Jewell

Kathy Dowell Jewell of Blountville, TN, finished her journey to the gates of heaven on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. She was a member of Word of Faith Fellowship Apostolic Church. Kathy was a true example of Holiness and Godliness and a beacon of faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Tommy Dowell, her brother, Steve Dowell and by her first husband, Rodger Boggs.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Wayne Jewell of Blountville; two sons, Talon Boggs and Logan Boggs of Blountville; two grandsons, Griffin and Eli; mother, Madge Dowell of Blountville; brother, Jim Dowell and wife, Deborah of Blountville; two sisters, Debbie Blakley and husband, George, of Fall Branch, and Lisa Cox of Blountville; two sisters-in-law, Robin Dowell Short of Kingsport and Nancy Dowell of Blountville; caregiver, Teresa Rhoton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Chris Cody officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 pm at Gunnings Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Byrd, James Steele, Terry Dowell, Bobby Dowell, Jeff Elkins, Wayne Conkin, Jason Rhoten, Austin Cox, Justin Morgan, Tim Boggs and Billy Dowell. Honorary pallbearers will be George Blakley and Nathan Dowell.
