Kelly "Tater" McClain, 43, of Church Hill, died Friday morning March 25, 2011 at his home after an apparent heart attack.
Born in Kingsport, he graduated from Volunteer High School in 1987. Kelly was employed with Volunteer Collision as an auto body technician. He enjoyed art, riding his Harley-Davidson, hunting and fishing. Above all things he devoted his life to taking care of his daughter, Lynsea. He loved his family and was very proud to be a grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Davis and Kelly McClain, II; maternal grandparents, Ollie Davis and Gaines Davis.
He is survived by two daughters, Kayleigh McClain, Lynsea McClain both of the home; one grandson, Kristian Kelly Taylor Williams, of the home; one sister, Vickie Sturgill and husband Jeff, Kpt; nephews, Tad, Jesse and Jacob Sturgill; great nephew Daniel Sturgill and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
