Kenneth Allen Bradley, 67, of Jonesborough, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2015 at his residence. Born in Sullivan County on November 2, 1947, a son of the late M.E. and Rosella Bradley, he had resided in this area most of his life. Kenneth graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1966 and from UVA Wise. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War as a member of Alpha 1/9, The Walking Dead.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, granddaddy, brother and friend who loved classic cars, camping, catfish and being outdoors. Kenneth was of the Baptist faith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Avalon Hospice, Christa Gray, Charlene Jackson, Andrea Smith and Pro-Career Home Services, Shanna Whittaker. A very special thank you to Michael Davis and fiancée, Nikki Brown for their loving and tender care.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, the mother of his children, Karyn Bradley.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 7 years, Judy Wells Bradley; son, Dr. Marc Bradley and wife, Elaine of Snowflake, VA; daughter, Sabrina Owens and husband, Kevin of Snowflake, VA; step-sons, Michael Davis and fiancée, Nikki Brown of Jonesborough, and Brent Davis and wife, Phyllis of Kingsport; 6 grandchildren, Rebekah, Bradley, Kashtan, Landon, Tori and Seth; brother, Ron Bradley and wife, Sharon of Greeneville; sister, Christine Horne and husband, Rufus of Whitesburg, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Bob Wallace; and his pets, Mollie McGee and Justus.
An Appreciation Service will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6-8:00 pm and at other hours at the residence.
A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation in the chapel with Pastor David Salley officiating. Presentation of the flag by The American Legion. Special music will be provided by John Powers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Marc Bradley, Kevin Owens, Brian Horne, Kevin Horne, Lewis Litz, Michael Davis, and Brent Davis.
