Wayne graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1965 and shortly after joined Southwire Company. His dedicated career spanned 36 years during which he held a variety of positions. From a management trainee, he worked his way up to plant manager of the Carrollton Building Wire Plant, manufacturing vice president, senior vice president and general manager of Southwire’s wire and cable division, executive vice president of all Southwire production operations and ultimately COO of Southwire Company. He retired in 2001.
In his professional life, Wayne was known for his laser focus, tenacious drive, eye for perfection and dedicated work ethics. In his personal life, he was committed to a healthy active lifestyle that included running, tennis and biking. Most importantly, though, Wayne was passionate in his philanthropic efforts. Among his many charitable causes was Carrollton’s former ARC organization. Wayne provided strong personal and monetary support for this organization, as well as the Special Olympics and many others.
