Kimberly Dawn Burke, 57, passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center on Friday November 24, 2023.
Kim was born on August 3, 1966 in Kingsport, TN, where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and went on to attend ETSU. During her time at ETSU, she was an active member of ADPi sorority, Pike dream girl, and Pike little sister. She worked as a waitress at Cheers and went on to become a manager there. Most people would recognize her from Haggle Shop Antiques where she worked for over 20 years. She had a love for antiques and would always greet you with a smile at the front desk. When she had free time, Kim liked to spend her time drawing, being outdoors, and most of all doing anything that involved her grandkids. Family meant the world to her, and she was very a proud and involved Grammy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L Grills, Sr.; and grandson, Atlas.
Kim is survived by her mother, Joyce Grills; daughter, Brittany Legursky and her husband Nick; grandchildren, Skylar, Ava, Hudson, Aeris, and Slade; good friend, Ed Kennedy; brother, Robert Grills, Jr.; her Aunt, Brenda; and numerous cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life service on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
You may honor her life by giving a donation to March of Dimes, 2313 Browns Mill Rd., #3, Johnson City, TN 37604, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.
