Kimberly ?Kim? Johnson, 13, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 19, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch, a member of the youth group and a member of Praise Explosion at church. Kim was an eighth grader at Colonial Heights Middle School where she was a member of the band and knitting club. She loved all crafts and also loved playing softball and hanging out with her friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandfather, Robert Sherryl Johnson; an uncle, Ernest Frank Johnson; and an aunt, Elizabeth Anne Davis.
Surviving are her parents, Jesse and Denise Johnson, Kingsport; one brother, Zachary Johnson, Kingsport; her grandmother, Juanita Johnson, Kingsport; grandparents, George ?Kenny? and Betty Amburgey, Gray, TN; her great-grandmother, Geraldine Morelock, Kingsport; aunts and uncles, Gary Johnson, David Johnson, Lyle and Janice Bledsoe, Roberta Johnson, Casey Johnson, Clayton and Roxie Amburgey, Tony and Kara Amburgey; cousins, Melanie, Matthew, Caleb, Nick Johnson, and Owen Amburgey; and special friends, Kaela Lewis, Jacob Ottinger and numerous other friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Carl Strickler and Rev. Vic Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.
Friends from school and church will serve as pallbearers.
