Kristi Kay Conkin Irwin, 39, of Kingsport, died Friday morning, April 10, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 93 in Greene County.
Kristi was born in Kingsport and was a graduate of Sullivan South High School, class of '88. She then graduated from Draughons Business College. Kristi worked for the Greene County Health Department and since 2004 was a deputy for the Greene County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kay Fred Conkin.
Survivors include her daughter, Brittany Irwin, and a son, Brett Irwin, both of the home; her mother, Daphne Conkin, Kingsport; two sisters, Josanne Wampler and husband Keith, of Greeneville, and Jill Rumley and husband Rick, of Piney Flats; one brother, Cameron H. Conkin, LTC, US Navy, and wife Beckey, Zion, Illinois; an Aunt, Daisy Blankenship; an Uncle, Marty Shaffer; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Christy Ryans and boyfriend, Tom Pattillo.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 pm Monday April 13, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be at 7:30 pm with Bishop Brent Young and Elder Ronald Miller officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund for Brittany Danielle and Brett Anthony Irwin in care of Eastman Credit Union.
