Kyle D. King, 79, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 10, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Sullivan County where he was a lifelong resident. Kyle was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served as a tank mechanic. He retired from Mead paper with over 43 years of service.

Kyle was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed doing crafts, reading westerns, and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. King and Nellie Sarah King; daughter, Kathy Ann King; and brother, Denver King.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Alice King, Blountville; daughter, Teresa L. King Dennison, Blountville; son, Gary W. King, Blountville; two granddaughters, Misty Burk and Sarah Burk; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Burk and Shyanne Copas; sister, Eula Massey and husband George of Kingsport; brother, Eddie King and wife Darlene of Kingsport; brother-in-law, George Harold Bowery and wife, Joyce of Lawrence County, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Foster officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.
