Kyle Thomas Malone, 72, of Kingsport went to be with his Lord Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at his home following a brief illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County. Kyle was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and retired from Quebecor Printing with 37 years of service. He was a member of Tri-Cities Baptist Church and a former member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Kyle loved his church, camping, and watching the U.T. Lady Vols. He was an exceptionally kind person with a great sense of humor.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Porter and Mary Malone; mother of his children, Martha Sue Malone; three sisters, Helen Griffin, June Malone, Carrie Lindland; and four brothers, E. B, Aaron, Afton, and Clifton Malone.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine Malone, Kingsport; a son, Michael Malone and wife, Deb of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Debbie Crawford and husband, Mike of Kingsport; a stepdaughter, Delores Gilliam and husband, Darrell of Rogersville; five grandchildren, Beth Malone, Matthew Crawford, Morgen Crawford, Sarah Malone, and Emily Malone; one sister, Lyndall Cunningham and husband, Jerry of Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Anna Malone, Blountville; a brother-in-law, Fred Griffin, Blountville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Al South and Pastor Arden Taylor officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
