L. C. Arnold, 70, of Kingsport, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and served in the U. S. Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in the 101st Airborne Division and also in the U. S. Air Force Reserves. L. C. retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in 1982 after 21 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Hamm Radio operator with the call number KD4SRB.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Rebecca Arnold; two brothers, J. W. and Oscar Arnold; and three sisters, Jeanette McCowan, Mary Sullens Morrell, and Dorothy Harris.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joyce B. Arnold, of the home; two daughters, Terry Arnold Ames and husband, Steve, Leeds, Alabama, and Barbara Fitch of Tennessee; one son, Michael Scott Arnold of the home; four grandchildren, David, Kayla, Brandon, and Maura; one sister, Margaret Hill, Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Lee Ward officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at Noon Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 3/265. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ivan Moore, Ken Winegar, Hobart Ollinger, Bill Haynes, Brandon Arnold, Steve Ames, and John Dance.
