Larkin Macil Castle, 86, of Kingsport passed away Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born in Kingsport on November 21, 1930, a son of the late Larkin Jacob and Mary Hurst Castle, he was a lifelong resident.
Larkin was a Sergeant E 5 in the Marine Corp, and a Korean War veteran. After 10 years in the Marines, he became a long-distance truck driver for Moore and Widener of Morristown.
Larkin was an avid and knowledgeable baseball fan, a follower of Nascar racing and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers George Thomas Castle and Jim Castle; two sisters, Lynn Castle and Helen Jean Miller.
He is survived by two brothers Don R. Castle of Kingsport, and Darrell L.
Castle of Memphis, one sister, Julia (Judy) Castle of Johnson City, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and who were special to him.
The family will receive friends from 11-1pm. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alan Buckles officiating. Burial will follow at Hermon Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dave Castle, Jim Castle, Gary Castle, Scott Castle, Jason Castle, and Jeff Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Castle and Thomas Castle.
Military Honors will be accorded by The American Legion, Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post # 265.
