Larry David Adams

Larry David Adams, life partner to Ron Outlaw and beloved brother to Sandy Thomas, has joined his parents Oberlee and Jerry Adams.

Larry entered this world on June 29, 1951 and Jesus chose to bring him home on June 28, 2010, one day before his earthly birthday, and give him the greatest gifts of all, freedom from pain and a grand reunion with his parents and all the loved ones who preceded him. What a celebration he'll have with grandparents, Jack and Eva Lee Shelley, Landon and Janie Adams, Aunts, Betty Gilliam and Chloe Walker, as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his nephew, Travis Hart and wife Tina; nieces, Brandie Moody and husband Wade, Jessica Buckner and fiancé Justin; special daughter, Chasity Outlaw; life-sister, Sharon Gardner and life-niece, Wendy Gardner; three great-nephews, Hunter, Holden, and Samuel; two great-nieces, Shawnah and Sheridan; as well as aunts, Phyllis Moore and Lizzie Fox. After our mother's passing we were blessed to have Eva Long Adams and her three daughters, Sharon, Gail, and Bennie Sue join us as sisters and special mother. A host of relatives and friends are also left behind to mourn.

Larry touched many lives with his courageous and giving spirit. Often he wondered what his purpose was on this Earth and from the many people who have offered testimonies of how he has inspired their lives; I believe his question has been answered. Larry loved life and should be an inspiration to all to enjoy each day. He could take "junk" and make it beautiful and that's how he lived his life; always the artist in just simple everyday living. That will be Larry's legacy.

Thank you to all the doctors, from DeSilva to Dr. Vaughn and all in-between, Wellmont and Indian Path and especially to each nurse Oncology, ICU, Critical Care, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th floors, and Hospice. Larry cared and respected each of you for all your care and kindness that you gave him.

Arrangements to celebrate his life are as follows, friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Life Celebration service will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with minister Bob Underwood officiating.
