Larry Blevins

 

Larry Blevins, 80 of Kingsport, passed away at Orchard View Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Born in Kingsport on June 10, 1942, a sone of the late Leonard and Helen Blevins, he has resided in this area his entire life. Larry was an independent contractor and worked for the Kingsport-Times News for many years. He was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church. Larry will be remembered as a loving and devoted brother and friend who loved to watch children playing on the carousel and was a friend to many people, and had a big smile for everyone.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Avalon Hospice and nurse, Amanda Calhoun.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Lionel Blevins and close friend, Pauline Weston.

 

Survivors include sisters, Janice Gammon of Kingsport, Patsy Ann Jones of Utah, Judy Lynn Beatty of Kingsport; brothers, R.L. Blevins, Jr. and wife Judy of Kingsport and Tom Blevins and wife Janet of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating.

 

Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
