Larry Geiger

Larry Wayne Geiger, 78, of Kingsport, passed away December 31, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Anderson, IN, where he served as a sheriff deputy for Madison County. Larry was a member of the Indiana National Guard and raced ASA and ARCA stock cars. He moved to Daytona Beach, FL, in the mid 80’s, where he became a correctional officer for the state of Florida (Tomoka Correctional Institute), until his retirement. It was in Daytona that he met and married his wife of 23 years, Teresa “Teri” Geiger. After retirement, they moved to Kingsport, where he lived out the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Ollie Geiger; sister, Joyce Scott; and brother, James Geiger.

Larry is survived by his wife, Teresa “Teri” Geiger; stepchildren, Brian Crouse, Elizabeth Jones (Brian), and Christopher Crouse; step-grandchildren, Maddison Jones and Grayson Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Matt Myers, Levi Ashworth, Ron Culhane, Billy Brown, Travis Louthian, and Dave Lemons.
