Larry Michael Vaughn

Larry Michael Vaughn, 45, Kingsport, passed away after a lengthy battle with diabetes on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Larry served in the U.S. Navy. Larry worked as a chef on Kiawa Island and had lived in Charleston for several years. He worked as a medical technician at Wellmont, MSHA and most recently at CSL Behring Research in Knoxville, TN. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, played football and enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and hiking. He was a member of First Christian Church in Johnson City.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry Cecil Vaughn and Cora Bell Vaughn and his maternal grandparents, Lloyd H. Love and wife, Della Johnson Love.

Larry is survived by his parents, Larry C. Vaughn and wife, JoAnn Love Vaughn; two sons, Joshua Aaron Vaughn and Michael Larry Vaughn; granddaughter, Nova Temperance Vaughn; sister, Lisa Vaughn Tipton and husband, Scott; nephews, Jonathan Tipton and wife, Dawn, Justin Tipton, Aaron Ferrell and wife, Dara and Christian Tipton; and fiancée, Alexis Nova.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at anytime at the home of Larry and JoAnn Vaughn. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. with Rev. Jeff DeBoard officiating and the eulogy by Lisa Tipton. Music will be provided by cousins, Kristi Carter and Jasmine Blake.

The graveside service will conducted on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Powers Cemetery in Robinette Valley, Virginia.
