Larry Wayne White, 60, Kingsport, TN, entered into eternal peace Tuesday, May 15, 2007.
He was a native of Kingsport and retired from the U.S. Army having also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his service he received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medals, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Multinational Force and Observers Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge. He completed Air Assault School with the 101st Airborne.
His parents, Howard and Dorothy White, paternal grandparents, Fred and Lucy White, and maternal grandparents, Conley and Emma McElyea preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of thirty years, Patricia White, five daughters, Quincey Harrington and husband Jason Bowen, Knoxville, TN; Angie Harmon and husband Reed, Kristie McKown, Missy Prevatt, and Lorri White, all of Florida; son, Joshua Z. White, Kingsport, TN; nine grandchildren, two sisters, Phyllis Carter and husband John, Jonesborough, TN; and Debbie Casto and husband Earl, Jonesborough, TN; four brothers, Conley White and wife Elaine, Johnson City, TN; Bill White and wife Diane, Kingsport, TN; Bob White and wife Sandy, Jonesborough, TN; Don White and wife Edna, St. Albans, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside services with full military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
