Lawrence "Red" Crawford

Lawrence "Red" Crawford, 78, of the Harmony Community, joined his heavenly Father on Friday, January 23, 2009 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Byrd and Adra Crawford; several brothers and sisters; and grandson, Andy Wade Stapleton.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lonnell Crawford; five daughters, Evelyn Douglas and husband Don, Mae Stapleton and husband Ken, Sandra Crawford and husband Bruce Gruber, all of Kingsport, Annie France, Harmony Community, and Doris Mumpower and husband Dwight Sr., Kingsport; one son, Granville Crawford and wife Rita, Limestone; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James Crawford and wife Wanda, Milan, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Danny Willis officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Crawford, Steve Crawford, Larry Stapleton, Kevin Weeks, Dwight Mumpower Jr., Larry Stapleton Jr., Dusty Poe, and Jared France.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Mitchell, Howard Conkin, Dr. Greg Gerlock, Blaine Housewright, and the men of Bethesda Freewill Baptist Church.
