Lea Ferrell Hammonds

Lea Ferrell Hammonds, 55, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at home after an apparent heart attack. Born in Kingsport where she resided all of her life, Lea graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1985. She had worked for McDonald’s for the last 15 years and was currently a shift manager. Lea was a member of Jonesborough Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anita Parker Ferrell.

Lea is survived by her husband, Jerry Hammonds, of the home; son, Parker Golden of Kingsport; granddaughter, Zoey Golden; sisters, Suzanne Jeter (Mike) of Kingsport, Kim Barker (Eddie) of Bluff City, and Lori Rodefer (Tony) of Mt. Juliet; aunt, Mavis Moore of Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Randy B. Robbins officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
