Leatha Lucille Ball Thompson, 83, Kingsport, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at 12:30 pm at home, where she had lived for over 50 years. She left her life of suffering with cancer for a new life with no pain.
She was a LPN at Holston Valley Hospital and also Indian Path. Lucille was of the Baptist faith and a stranger she knew not.
Preceding her in death were her son, Bobby Joe Parkerson; two brothers, Walter J. Ball and Fred E. Ball; and parents, Jocephus and Bertie Ball.
Surviving are her daughter, Krysti ?Tootie? Owens, Kingsport; three grandsons, Steve Frazier & wife Andrea, Chris Dingus, and Derwin Gibson; two granddaughters, Kim Hamilton and Tabitha Owens, all of Kingsport; and five great-grandchildren, Endia & Isaiah Dingus, of Knoxville, Savanna & Sydney Hamilton of Kingsport, and Taylor Hamilton of Big Stone Gap, VA.
Calling hours are from 6 ? 8 pm Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 1 pm Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Byrd officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
