Leo Fred Brewer

Leo Fred “Papaw” Brewer, 93, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 surrounded by his family.  Born in Cincinnati, OH, his family moved to Bristol at age two, he then spent most of his life in Kingsport working in management at both Oakwood Markets and Leepers Market.

He grew up in the Christian Church and accepted Christ at a young age.

His parents, Carolyn Elizabeth Brewer and Avnor Brewer, a brother Bruce, sisters Helen Gilliam and Ruth Hull and two nephews preceded him in death.

Mr. Brewer served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupational Medal and a World War II Victory Ribbon.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving wife of 65 years on December 24, 2019

Mary Kathleen Vaughn Brewer,daughter Fredia Brewer Odham, grandchildren John, Jill

and Beth Odham, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Wednesday (September 25, 2019) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A military graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 3/265.
