The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Veterans Administration and to Caris Hospice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Fox.

Leon is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita Ketron Day; daughter, Christine Redman (Barry) of Kingsport; grandson, Ryan Redman of Kingsport; three brothers, Gene Day (Marsha) of Newton, NC, James Day (Wilma) of Kingsport, and Lee Roy Day of Kingsport; one sister, Brenda Justus (Gary) of Conover, NC; several nieces and nephews; and his cats, Sissy and Gracie.

A Vietnam Veteran Appreciation Service will be conducted at 4:30 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018 by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter # 979. The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson from 5-7:00 pm on Friday and at other hours at the residence.

Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 pm by Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688. A Celebration of Life service will follow with his son-in-law, Barry Redman officiating. Special music will be provided by Ryan Redman.
