Leon Robinson Wallen went to the other side to meet Jesus early Saturday morning September 18, 2010, after a short illness. She will be greeted by many loved ones there. She will be sadly missed here, but our hearts are filled with happy memories of her. Her love, wisdom, and perseverance will remain with us forever.
Leon "Non" was born in Lee County, VA, on May 7, 1921. She was the daughter of Jack and Belle Wallen Robinson.
Non was saved early in life, and was a member of Willis Chapel Baptist Church in Kyles Ford, TN.
She was married to Guy Wallen in August of 1949. To this union were born two children. Guy and Non came to live in Kingsport in 1959. They had many happy times and many sad times as humans do, but they loved each other and their children.
Non was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to sew and made many beautiful dolls and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Belle Wallen Robinson; one infant brother, Lester Robinson; one brother, Matt Fleenor; three sisters, Reba Robinson Richardson, Madge Robinson Mayo, and Blanche Robinson; and one nephew, Roy Fleenor.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Ron and Gwen McAmis; son, Lynn Wallen; three grandsons, Chad and April McAmis, Craig and Carol McAmis, and Daniel Wallen; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Sandra McAmis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
