Leona Catherine Walden

Leona Catherine Walden, 88, of Church Hill, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Born to the late Mathnul and Media Massengill in 1936. She was a member of Faith Assembly of Rogersville and lived a full life of service to her God and to her family.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Walden; daughter, Debbie Henderson; granddaughter, Crystal Hutson; brothers, Ira, Bill and Jack Massengill; sister, June Fields; and half-sister, Fannie Whitaker.

Leona is survived by her daughter, Cheri Starnes and husband Michael of Church Hill, and son, Scott Walden and wife Wanda of Kingsport; granddaughters, Angie Henderson (David), Tifanie Crusenberry (Brian), Emily Owens (Nathan), and twins, Lacy Brummett (Brian) and Stacy Walden (TJ); eight great-grandchildren; niece, Joyce Fields; and nephew, Mark Massengill.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
