Leroy Hudson

Leroy Hudson, 80, of Mount Carmel, went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, he had resided most of his life in Mount Carmel. Leroy was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Hudson; parents, Walter and Thelma Hudson; sister, Kathleen Goodman; brother, Dewey Hudson; and nephew, Randall Frazier.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue Hudson; one daughter, Janet Hall and husband, Harvey; three grandchildren, Curtis and Kendra Hale, Kevin and Kala Hale, and Jasper Hale; much anticipated great-granddaughter, Millie Jade Hale; two step-grandchildren, Sonya Edwards and Shane Hall; special friends, Michael and Rita Ford, and Jack Testerman; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. James Adams and Elder Scott Tipton officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Testerman, Junior Skeens, Junior Gray, and Jimmy Salyer.
