Leroy Gentry Lovelace, 84, Kingsport, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was a veteran of World War II, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 32 years, Edith Lovelace; parents, and four brothers.
He is survived by four daughters, Brenda Phillips, Sue Lovelace, Nancy Lovelace, and Donna Richardson and husband Roy, all of Kingsport; two sons, Johnny Lovelace and wife Sandra of Rutledge, Philip Lovelace and wife Marsha of Newport; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Ruby Lovin and husband Don, Rena Pickle and husband, Tom, all of Kingsport; two brothers, James Lovelace and wife Ruth of Weber City, VA, Tommy Lovelace and wife Linda of Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home Tuesday with Rev. Henry Owens and Elder Jonathan Lovelace Officiating.
Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post # 3382 of the V.F.W.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Stanley, Roy Richardson, Tony Crouch, Larry A. Coates, Alan Coates, and J. B. Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Jones, Larry R. Coates, and Christopher Lovelace.
