Lester Hugh "Toppy" Clark, 84, of Church Hill, died Friday, February 26, 2010, following an extended illness. He was born and raised in the Ross Campground community. He retired from Mullins and Quillen Tile after many years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Clark; his parents, Frank and Mary Susan Clark; brothers Lyle, Frank, Bill, and Afton Clark; sisters, Nora and Evelyn; and son-in-law Paul Kimbler.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delray Clark; a daughter, Jan Kimbler, of Kingsport; 3 grandchildren, Summer, Tina, and Amy; 2 great-grandsons; 5 great-granddaughters; a sister, Jenny Huckaby, of Church Hill; a brother, Henry Clark, of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 6:00, with Rev. Joe Monroe and Brother Ed Barnette officiating. Music will be provided by Elijah Woods.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Ross Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Steve Clark, Cody Clark, Johnny Clark, David Bates, James Poston, and Johnny Clark will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Clark and J. C. Clark.
