Letty Lois Lewis, 82, died Thursday morning November 19, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late John and Lettie Saylor. She grew up in Durham, NC, and graduated from Duke University. Letty worked in the Research Labs at the Tennessee Eastman Company before raising her family.
She was a charter member of Ridgefields Garden Club and especially enjoyed arranging flowers. Letty was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Letty is survived by her husband, Julian Lewis; daughter, Cynthia Armstrong and husband Greg; son, Bill Lewis and wife Aubin; and grandsons, Will Lewis and Ben Lewis. She is also survived by her brother, John Saylor and wife Astrid.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Edward J. "Jay" Mills, III officiating. An inurnment service will be held following the service at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memory Garden.
The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Episcopal Church following the inurnment service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church; 161 East Ravine Road; Kingsport, TN 37660, or to a charity of one's choice.
