Lila Ruth "Cookie" Crowe, 43, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday November 19, 2008.
Cookie enjoyed working with the public. She was honored by McDonald's Restaurant, where she worked, as "Employee of the Month" for five months straight.
She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving father, James I. Spurrier, Jr.; and grandparents, Gladys and Marlin Vaughn and Lucile and James Spurrier Sr.
Surviving are husband, Eric. M. Crowe; daughters, Kallie D. Carter, Misty B. Carter, and Alex Crowe; sons, Austin Crowe and Cameron Crowe; grandson, Jason; mother, Goldie Ruth Flatt; sister, Porsha Taylor of MD; brother, Ronnie Myers of FL; adopted brother, Bannon Myers, of Kingsport; special cousin, Jeff Vaughn, Kingsport; special uncles, Marlin and Henry Vaughn, Kingsport; special aunts, Hazel L. Vanover, Kingsport and Katrina L. Benton, of MD; and special nieces and nephews. Also left behind are special friends, Lowell McConnell, Aunt Janet Jenkins, and Frankie York, Kingsport.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Madden officiating.
Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the 5th floor nurses and staff at Indian Path Hospital and to those friends who have helped so much during this time of bereavement.
