Lillie V. Dingus, 85, of Kingsport, TN passed away Tuesday, August 16 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 10, 1926 in Dante, Virginia. She was the daughter of Robert and Lula Johnson.
Lillie was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport, TN.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Lula Johnson of Rockford, Illinois; her husband, Ray V. Dingus, Sr.; son, Ray V. Dingus, both of Kingsport; brothers Leon and Jack Johnson both of Rockford, Illinois; sisters, Eula Francis Mullendore of Rockford, Illinois and Ivaline Lena Burden of Castlewood, Virginia; and infant grandson Stoney Ray Dingus, of Kingsport.
She is survived by her sons, Charles R. "Bob" Dingus and wife Judy of Kingsport, TN and Terry L. Dingus and wife Cynthia of Loves Park, Illinois, one brother, Roy Johnson of Davenport, Florida, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 20th, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Jim Mullins officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Friends may call at her residence during the day or during visitation prior to services at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
