Linda Louise Knighten

Linda Louise Knighten, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Holston Valley Hospital after a long hospitalization stay. She was born at Haywood County Hospital in Waynesville, North Carolina to parents Dorothy Best and James Henson. She was a stay at home mother to five children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Bernarr Knighten, mother and stepfather Dorothy Evon Best and Edward Earl Best, father James Henson and brother Terry Dean Henson.

Linda is survived by her sister Nancy Donnell Mehaffey of Leicester, N;  five children Angela Rollins and husband Donald of Mills River, NC, Cynthia Robinson and husband Marlon, Linda Beckner and husband Larry, Marvin Knighten, and Dorothy Stover and husband Phillip all of Kingsport, TN; her grandchildren Gene Carver, Maria Haynes, David Carver, Michael Austin, Joseph Rollins, Carrie Robinson, Shay Jones, Delilah Jones, Isaiah Knighten and Destiny Stover; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family, Sunday February 10, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, 117 Charlemont Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37660. They will also receive friends and family Monday February 11, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Faith Independent Baptist Church, 5 Ivy Park Drive, Weaverville, NC 28787.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at 11am at Faith Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park, 1529 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715.

Pall bearers will be Gene Carver, David Carver, Michael Austin, Isaiah Knighten, Joseph Rollins, Marlon Robinson, Donald Rollins and Phillip Stover.
