Linda Jane Pyle, beloved friend and family member to many in Kingsport and East Tennessee, died Sunday at her home after her brave battle with cancer. She faced her illness much as she did her daily life, with humor, laughter and courage.
Ms. Pyle especially enjoyed her wide circle of family and friends, and always made them feel loved and treasured. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched with her great friendship and devotion to all. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, and a member of Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.
Linda was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended East
Tennessee State University. She was a devoted and trusted employee of Hertz at the Tri-Cities Airport for 45 years. Linda was a community volunteer, serving as a board member of the Friends of the Archives at the Library, a docent at the Netherland Inn and a board member of Friends and Neighbors. She was a member of the Garden Guild of Ridgefields, and she enjoyed playing bridge and traveling with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Cleo Pyle, and sister, Carolyn.
Linda is survived by her sisters, Ann Addington and husband, Kermit of Kingsport and Cathy Evans and husband, Mike of Hermitage, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
An entombment service will be held on Wednesday, July 11th at 1:30 pm at First Broad Street Columbarium. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service.
