Linda Grace Dougherty Quillen

Linda Grace Dougherty Quillen of Kingsport went to be with the angels on Friday, March 6, 2009.

She was an avid genealogist and a member of the Scott County Historical Society. She loved wildflowers and carried a bucket and shovel with her wherever she went so she could expand the beauty in her yard that God gives to us all.

Linda devotedly cared for her mother. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, nana, and friend. Her spirit will be greatly missed.

She was employed by the Sullivan County School System and was a member of Morrison City Christian Church.

Her father, Lester Thomas Dougherty preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Dave Fisher of Toney, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jill Quillen of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, Hannah, Daniel and Matthew Quillen, and Zachary Fisher; her mother, Ruth Jones Dougherty of Kingsport; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sharon Dougherty of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Bob Underwood, Minister, officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark McGlothlin, Tim Wills, Kip Fletcher, Bob Copas, Nile Shoemaker, and Ray Dean.
