Linda Strickler went peacefully to Heaven early on Sunday morning, March 22, 2015. Her loving husband of 54 years, David Strickler, held her hand as she passed. Linda was an incredibly talented person who could master any challenge she took on. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed making ornate quilts and wall hangings. She enjoyed staying in shape by riding bicycles and working out with her husband, David and loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to their football games. Linda loved serving the Lord as a long time member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. She volunteered for many functions and served as Kitchen Coordinator, cooking for special events. She retired from Tennessee Eastman after 27 years of service where she was a marketing specialist. Linda resided in Kingsport with her husband in the same home they built shortly after they were wed.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise and Kenneth Stidham, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosie and Virgil Strickler.
Linda was a beloved mother of two boys, Aaron Strickler and wife, Jennifer, and Warren Strickler, both of Kingsport. She adored her three grandsons, Zachary, Jacob and Lukas, and her great-grandson, Hunter. Linda is also survived by brother, Jimmie Stidham and wife, Marcella of Blountville; sister, Nancy Dubell and husband, Bill also of Blountville; brothers-in-law, Jerry and Jim Strickler of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, Ministry Center. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.
The entombment service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at East Tennessee Funeral Home Mausoleum.
